MOTHER LIBERTY CME AND PROMISE SEED PARTNER TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL LITERACY
The MoneyWi$e Class is now in it's 4th week and we are learning the basics of Homeownership. Regions Mortgage Banker Karley Bond provided expert answers, and take home mortgage calculators. Regions is one of our financial supporters for this important community financial training. MoneyWi$e is a Consumer-Action and Capital One Bank Project.  Promise Seed CDC Is Currently Hosting the Consumer Action -MoneyWi$e Financial Literacy Workshop At Mother Liberty CME Church in Jackson, TN. The Classes Have Been Steadily Growing. Above students are from left to right Charles Chism, Youlanda Shaw, Dee Jackson, Ashley Harris, Deedrick Jefferies, and Conswella Scott. Not Pictured is William Yarbro, and Counselor Cheryl Barham took this picture. This class has completed the first two sessions for "Tracking Your Money and Good Credit". Future lessons will concentrate on "Buying a Home" and "Starting a Micro Business". Workshops last 8 weeks. We meet every Thrusday from 6:00pm - 8pm. Go to our "Contact Us" menu on the left of this page to get on our waiting list. Low to moderate income students receive a generous "weekly stipend", and a free "Matching Savings Account" for completing the course. Savings accounts help students with "Downpayment Assistance on a Home", "Starting a Small Business", and "Saving for Higher Education". Other assets that have been saved for are "Cars", and "Computers".

Promise Seed CDC, Executive Director, Hazel Chism (2nd row left) took time from various group activities to pose for this photo. The Group named the "Survivors", completed case management and action plans for adult learners seeking financial management and credit solutions. Each group will receive a "mini grant" to promote financial literacy in their community. Promise Seed has been providing financial workshops in West TN since 2004. We are please to have this "fresh" new product to introduce to our workshop participants.
